Series:

| Chose the costume
because Andrea chose to be Hitomi. Except she chose the movie Hitomi and I
chose the television series Van. The idea of wandering around with no
shirt on didn't, and still doesn't, hold much appeal to me.
It's not an all too impressive costume. I bought the pants and sword the week before the con. Gail, one of my co-workers made the shirt and the boot covers. And I borrowed the gloves from my dad. Thankfully the quality of the picture is bad because I came up with the great Idea of letting my hair grow out so it would like Van's. It ended up as more of some Beatles hair cut ... thing. Suffice it to say, first stop the day after the con was a barber shop. For our skit, we re-enacted the end scene of the series, in Japanese. Apparently a group of people who had their own time slot in the schedule for the next day to sing songs from the Japanese musicals to a certain anime thought the idea of doing a masquerade skit in Japanese was pretentious. Go figure. |
