| Everyone was all
excited about the Two Towers movie and wanted to dress up for it. My
interest in dressing up was low since the story is full of white guys.
Which is odd since it's not like any of the anime characters look East
Indian and I don' t mind dressing up like them. Anyway, upon realizing
that I would be the only person not in costume, I quickly jumped on board.
The choice of costume took some time -- too tall to be a Hobbit, couldn't
figure out how to make fake pointy ears match my complexion, don't want to
spend a lot of money. Ended up being Aragorn because Erica was being Arwen
and minimal work was involved in the costume.
Black tunic made from scratch, modified second hand red shirt, black jeans (Did you know Aragorn wears CK jeans?), boots and used Kisa's cloak from when they went to Harry Potter. Did not try to mimic his hair (learned that lesson with the Van Fanel costume), but I did opt not to shave for a couple of days for the scruffy look. Only one person who knew me spotted me at the theatre, he was amused. Stole the picture from Ruth's Eowyn page (she has pictures of other people there too). We're trying to do a pose similar to the movie poster. I look kind of tilted though. Maybe I need a V8. -- Still not King -- |
